N54 N55 Crank Seal Guard

The BMW N54/N55 platforms have a known issue of serpentine belt failure. When the belt fails, it often gets pulled behind the damper and past the crank seal where it gets shredded into the oil pan. This can lead to it being drawn into the oil pick-up causing engine failure, or necessitating an expensive repair to drop the subframe and remove the belt from the oil pan.

A crank seal guard serves as a protective device that can help avoid this issue. This guard fits over the front crank seal and prevents the belt from getting sucked in when a belt failure occurs. It's cheap insurance against potential catastrophic engine damage.

This specific seal guard is CNC'd from 100% Billet 6061-T6 aluminum and is anodized black for corrosion resistance. Unlike some other models on the market, it has no welded tabs or thin steel pieces, providing added strength and durability.
